A Puddle In The Desert

Hello…a little about me and my blog.

My name is Steven. I am a husband, father, and a transplant to Texas. I have 3 master’s degrees (M.Div. M.A.M.F.C., and a M.A.C.E.). All that to say, that I am well educated and little weird. I have varying interests and experiences. One of the challenges I have had in my life has been that I have found work in blue collar and industries and had education for white collar jobs. I would complain, but that isn’t why you are here. It just makes me well rounded.

Why a “puddle in the desert”? For one. I live in Texas, hence, a somewhat desert, “arid”, environment. The puddle part is a little complicated. On the one hand, my siblings and I often played in puddles as kids…didn’t you? So, in part, I am inviting you to come play in the puddle with me. Another aspect of this is that I know puddles can be refreshing to a number of species. I also know that encouragement can also be refreshing. I believe if you will stay with me for a short while, I will be able to provide some refreshment to you.

Another part of the puddle is that it contains water. Water is a truly weird substance. It can exist in 3 forms. It keeps life going. It is also a large component of a certain field of science…physics (specifically Continuum Mechanics and Thermodynamics). I am learning about these fields and learning to apply them to theology and psychology. That is part of what this blog and journey are about. I have always enjoyed various science fiction shows/movies/etc. This only sparked my interest in physics. Some of you are going to disagree with me or want to correct me. If you know the field, please, feel free to contact me. I am learning. Outside of that, feel free to contact me. I would love to hear from you.
